a new sort of challenge
The past few weeks have been a busy succession of post expedition admin, preparation for the future and a fair dose of indulgence! Ticked off the list one-by-one were all the things, especially foods, that I craved so badly whilst on the ice for 113 days.
On Sunday I drive down to the Devon coast and to Commando Training Centre Royal Marines where I will start 15 months of rigorous Young Officer training. The challenges will differ greatly from the arctic, where boredom, isolation and repetition were the greatest obstacles to overcome. CTCRM will be far more intense and stimulating, although the presence of unlimited food and interaction with other human beings will be most welcome!
As a result of my training, blog updates may become a little sparse, but I hope to update you all with news of how my batch progresses.
